You can choose from six trim levels with the RAV4: the LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, TRD Off-Road, and Limited. A hybrid version is also available on selected trims. Here’s some more information on the new RAV4.

Fuel-Efficient Engine

All RAV4 models are powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that works together with an eight-speed automatic transmission to create 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional, except for the Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims, which feature a standard all-wheel-drive system. The Adventure, TRD Off-Road, and Limited trims come with a special all-wheel-drive system that provides enhanced traction by shifting power distribution between the rear wheels. You’ll get good fuel economy from the 2.5-liter engine, which is rated at 27 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.

RAV4 hybrid models feature a 2.5-liter engine that’s paired with two electric motors and a continuously variable automatic transmission to produce a combined output of 219 horsepower. With this engine, you’ll get an excellent fuel-economy rating of 41 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway.

Capable Performance

The design of the RAV4 is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, which provides a longer and wider stance that makes for more responsive handling and a smooth ride. The standard multi-link rear suspension further adds to a comfortable and confident ride by working with the vehicle’s natural body rigidity to keep traction steady.

The RAV4 also offers three selectable drive modes that will allow you to tailor your driving experience according to the road condition. These modes include Eco for maximum efficiency, Normal for a blend of efficiency and performance, and Sport, which provides sharper acceleration. With all-wheel-drive models comes a standard Multi-Terrain Select system, which will afford you optimum driving performance on different surfaces, including mud, sand, rocks, dirt, and snow.

Comfortable and Spacious Cabin

The cabin of the RAV4 is spacious and offers above-average legroom for up to five passengers. Behind the rear seats is a roomy cargo area of 37.6 cubic feet, which you can extend to 69.8 cubic feet by folding the rear seats down. The interior is also quiet and features an intuitive layout and easy-to-use controls.

The base trim offers standard features like cloth upholstery, a soft-touch dashboard with stitched accents, remote keyless entry, and an automatic electric parking brake. Higher trims add many nice-to-have features like dual-zone automatic climate control, SofTex upholstery, heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and push-button start.

Modern Technology

You’ll get impressive standard technology and driver-assist features with the RAV4. The standard infotainment system is well equipped with a 7-inch display, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and SiriusXM. In addition, the base trim comes standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 suite, which includes advanced systems like pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, lane tracing assist, automatic high beams, full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control, and road-sign assist.
