For drivers seeking a modern EV that offers bold styling and exceptional features without a luxury price tag, the Toyota bZ rises to the occasion. This crossover SUV was previously known as the bZ4X in 2025. In 2026, the model offers more than a name change. Extensive improvements have been made to its engineering, exterior, and cabin.
The 2026 Toyota bZ introduces more powerful electric motors, which raise horsepower from 215 in 2025 to 338. Additionally, the battery has been enhanced to provide a superior range of 314 miles. Because the North American Charging Standard port, or NACS, is new for 2026, you can now conveniently charge this model at any Tesla Supercharger station. It only takes 30 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80% when using a fast charger. Another exciting improvement to the 2026 bZ is the addition of a preconditioning system. This system preps the battery to an ideal temperature before charging starts.
The bZ has an expressive design with subtle updates to the front end. The new look is edgy with crisp definition running across the otherwise smooth, swooping roof. A linear LED headlight divides the hood from the grille. This headlight spans the entire nose, featuring a unique curve at its ends. The grille is a flat, body-colored element that bends sharply toward the tall fog light ports. From the side view, you can admire the gently angled hood and raked rear that add a sporty touch to the profile. The wheels are styled with V-shaped spokes and flared fenders—crisp definition angles over the side door panels.
Inside, the modernized dashboard refreshes the cabin. The dashboard has a clean look with a horizontal accent. The 14-inch infotainment system screen is mounted in front of the dashboard.
