2020 Toyota Tacoma | Tansky Sawmill ToyotaThe 2020 Toyota Tacoma is a popular midsize truck that’s fun to drive off-road or on the highway and has lots of convenient features and a powerful engine. Six trim levels are available: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, and TRD Pro. Here are some of the reasons why you should choose this versatile, capable vehicle.

An Impressive Exterior

The 2020 Tacoma has a muscular look with a large, sculpted hood, a prominent grille with the Toyota symbol in the center, and skid plates for extra protection from off-road obstacles. Two cab sizes are available, and you can choose a 5- or 6-foot bed. You’ll get 16-inch wheels, a sliding rear window, and a spoiler on the tailgate.

You can add fog lights, a 120-volt power outlet in the truck bed, a power moonroof with a sunshade, 17- or 18-inch wheels, a power-sliding rear window, mudguards, and a lockable cover for the bed. Choose the TRD Pro for a hood scoop, Toyota lettering on the grille, subtle TRD Pro lettering below the headlights, unique black alloy wheels, and heated power side mirrors with turn signals.

A High-Tech Interior

This truck’s interior is durable and modern, and round air vents and lots of buttons on the console make it feel like a cool cockpit. The Tacoma comes with a 4.2-inch driver information display, three USB ports, a 7-inch touch screen, voice recognition, a Wi-Fi hot spot, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a six-speaker sound system. It’s compatible with Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and Android Auto.

You can add an inclinometer with a roll/pitch display to make off-road driving easier. Other options include dual-zone climate control, wireless charging, a 10-way power driver’s seat, heated leather front seats, and audio and voice recognition controls in the steering wheel. You can also choose keyless entry, remote start, push-button start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, an 8-inch touch screen, navigation, and a HomeLink universal transceiver.

Great Performance

The Tacoma is powerful and maneuverable, and it can handle many tough tasks. It comes with six-speed automatic transmission and a 2.7-liter, four-cylinder engine that gives 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. The on-demand four-wheel-drive system has a rear-wheel-drive mode to conserve fuel, and the power steering feels responsive.

You can choose a 3.5-liter V-6 engine as well. It can tow up to 6,800 pounds and haul up to 1,440 pounds and trailer sway control is available. With the TRD Pro, you’ll get a six-speed manual transmission. The four-cylinder engine can get 19 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway, and the V-6 gets 17 mpg in traffic and 20 mpg on larger roads.

The TRD Off-Road trim comes with shocks designed for off-road driving and crawl control to help you use the throttle and brakes at low speeds. Its electronically controlled locking rear differential distributes power evenly to both wheels for better traction. With the TRD Pro, you’ll get a desert air intake high above the windshield to keep dust, dirt, and sand from getting into the engine.
