2020 Toyota Avalon | Tansky Sawmill ToyotaIf you’re looking for a hybrid sedan that will save you on fuel, but you also want good performance and a spacious cargo area, the 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid may just be the car for you. In addition, this efficient and spacious sedan also offers plenty of standard and advanced safety features and a well-equipped infotainment system.

You can opt for the Avalon Hybrid in one of three trims: XLE, XSE, and Limited. All models come with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s paired with two electric motors and a continuously variable automatic transmission. With this engine, you’ll get a combined 215 horsepower and an amazing estimated fuel efficiency of 43 mpg in the city and 44 mpg on the highway. Here’s a quick overview of what each trim has to offer to help you decide which trim to go for.

XLE

The base trim of the Avalon Hybrid is well-equipped with impressive features like LED headlights and taillights, LED daytime running lights, heated and power-adjustable mirrors with blind spot indicators, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The interior is fitted with SofTex upholstery, and the cargo area offers an amazing 16.09 cubic feet of space, which is excellent for a hybrid sedan. Standard interior features include dual-zone automatic climate control, an integrated backup camera, a leather steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

The infotainment system offers all the bells and whistles, such as a 9-inch display, a USB port, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility, SiriusXM, HD radio, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. To access information regarding things like fuel economy, trip information, and the hybrid system, the Avalon Hybrid provides a 7-inch information display.

What is most impressive about this trim, is the wealth of safety equipment it offers. The standard Toyota Safety Sense suite, for instance, features a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, and full-speed range dynamic radar cruise control.

XSE

The XSE trim will give you a more sporty ride with performance features like sport-tuned shock absorbers, aerodynamics add-ons like a rear spoiler and diffuser, and interior touches like genuine aluminum trim and aluminum pedal covers. With the XSE also comes a few luxury add-ons like a power tilt/slide moonroof, wireless smartphone charging, and a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Limited

The Limited trim boasts all the premier and high-end features that the Avalon Hybrid has to offer. The exterior of this trim receives luxury add-ons like an auto-dimming driver-side mirror and 18-inch super-chrome alloy wheels, while the cabin exudes an upscale feel with quality materials like premium leather and genuine wood. Other nice-to-haves include memory settings, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and ambient lighting. In addition, this trim also comes with a 10-inch head-up display that provides customizable settings and effortless access to convenient features like navigation and the hybrid system.

Although the Avalon Hybrid comes at a higher price than its non-hybrid counterpart, you’ll receive plenty of value for your money. Unlike other hybrids on the market, you won’t have to make do with a decrease in performance or less cabin space in the name of efficiency with the Avalon Hybrid.
