What's New for the 2026 Toyota Tundra?

The 2026 Toyota Tundra stands apart from other full-size trucks on the market today with its engaging design and comfortable features. At the same time, it offers the full power and functionality that you expect from your next truck. In 2026, you will find several improvements, including those to the interior, exterior, and mechanical features.

The Tundra now comes with a larger 32.2-gallon gas tank, which means you can go farther between gas station trips. Most of the seven trim levels continue to be available with a V6, turbo 3.4-liter gas engine. This is a 389-horsepower engine that features a 10-speed auto transmission. Rear-wheel drive is included, and four-wheel drive is an upgrade. If you select the Limited, Platinum, or 1794 trim levels, you have the option to add an electric motor to this engine. This elevates output to 437 horsepower. This gas-electric system is standard for the TRD Pro and Capstone trim levels. The TRD Pro is also available with crawl control, hill descent control, a locking rear differential, a lifted suspension, and skid plates.

On the exterior, all trim levels now have a tow hitch that features a 7/4 harness pin. The 2026 Tundra has a commanding presence with a flat, squared-off front end and muscular accentuation on the sides. The sides show off flared, boxy fenders and a crisp line running across the bottom of the door panels. On the nose, the wide grille is visually cohesive with the black bumper. The headlights have a fascinating shape and directly integrate with upright, rectangular air inlets. Exterior features offered on the Tundra are cargo bed lighting, up to 22-inch wheels, power deployable running boards, a power cargo bed step, all-terrain tires, mud guards, bed power outlets, a remote locking tailgate, and more.

If you select a double-cab layout, your 2026 Toyota Tundra will not have a rear console and rear air vents for the dual-zone auto climate control system. In addition, the Limited is offered with standard leather upholstery for the first time. Some of the many features in the 2026 Tundra that carry over from last year's version are a power-sliding rear window, an 8-inch or 14-inch infotainment system screen, a push-button ignition, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a navigation system, natural voice recognition, and many other features.

2. Never tow beyond a vehicle's published towing capacities. Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. Follow all instructions in your Owner's Manual.
