What's New for the 2025 Toyota Prius?

The Toyota Prius has impressively evolved over the years and is now in its fifth generation. In 2025, the trim lineup for this four-door hybrid sedan will grow with the debut of the Nightshade trim level. The new lineup starts with the base LE and continues with the XLE, Nightshade, and Limited.

The Prius Nightshade is easy to differentiate from the other trim levels with distinctive aesthetics across the interior and exterior. The trim level is offered in your choice of Wind Chill Pearl or Midnight Black Metallic. Black accents on the exterior include the badging, antenna, 19-inch wheels, door sills, and front door handles. Inside, black leather seats show off gray stitching. Puddle lights with the Prius logo are also standard.

Other aspects of the 2025 Toyota Prius are unchanged. The model displays a pleasing look with a flowing, low-profile stance and a modern front-end design. The headlights are captivating with a long LED bar that trends outward to a point before fading inward across part of the hood. The grille is short and wide, and it displays a thick, gray surround. Over the sides, the Prius is smoothly defined with slightly flared back fenders. Depending on the trim level that you prefer, your Prius may be outfitted with exterior gear like a power liftgate and 17-inch to 19-inch wheels.

All Prius trim levels are comparably equipped under the hood. The hybrid system includes an electric motor paired with a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder gas engine. This front-wheel drive system produces 194 horsepower. All trims are also available with all-wheel drive as an upgrade. All-wheel drive adds a second electric motor and generates 196 horsepower.

The entry-level Prius LE is nicely appointed with an auto climate control system, split-folding rear seats, a blind-spot monitor, a six-speaker sound system, an 8-inch touch display screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, lane keeping, forward collision detection with auto braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure mitigation. Features added in higher trim levels include heated front and rear seats, a digital rear mirror, driver's memory controls, a JBL sound system with eight speakers, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic glass roof, a 12.3-inch touch display screen, and other equipment.
