Here at Tansky Sawmill Toyota, we understand the importance of our community and protecting the environment we live in. That is why we are proud to announce that after opening the doors to our new LEED facility, we have reached our goal in becoming the first LEED Gold Certified facility in the region! LEED certification is the recognized standard for measuring building sustainability. Achieving this certification asserts that our building is truly "green."
As a part of the LEED certification and green efforts, we are helping to save the forests using FSC Rated wood! FSC is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization, established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests. Environmentally-friendly forest management is needed to ensure that the production of timber, non-timber products and ecosystem services maintains the biodiversity, productivity and ecological processes of the forest. FSC forest areas are in 81 countries worldwide and counting! How many areas are certified? There are a total of 143,162,335 areas; the top countries are Europe and North America. Europe has over 41% of the total areas while North America claims 39%. As for us here at Tansky Sawmill, we LEED the way MOVING FORWARD!
