What's New for the 2020 Toyota Corolla?
2020 will be a big year for the Toyota Corolla. The popular hatchback version of this vehicle got major updates in 2019, and now it is the sedan's turn. With a completely new look and a hybrid option for the first time ever, there are more reasons than ever to consider buying a Corolla. The new exterior design of the Corolla is leaner, tighter, and lower. More athletic and sculpted in appearance than ever, it features a curvier fender top and powerful new fender flares. The front fascia of the vehicle will depend on the trim level that drivers select. Top-of-the-line trims will feature sporty details such as a body-colored spoiler and LED turn signals and light guards.
In order to improve the performance of the Corolla further, the center of gravity was lowered by 0.39-inches. This will increase how nimble and responsive the vehicle is. The hood was lowered 1.4-inches in order to improve driver visibility and the car itself is now 0.8-inches lower. An exciting new color option will be available to buyers in 2020. It is known as Celestite Grey Metallic and is sure to turn heads. This joins other stylish and bold color options such as Black Sand Pearl, Barcelona Red, and Blizzard Pearl. All trims of the new 2020 Corolla will receive an 8-inch touchscreen with the exception of the base level L, which features a 7-inch touchscreen. This blends flawlessly with the new, neater instrument panel. A center stack screen is conveniently located and allows drivers to make changes to the climate control, radio settings, navigation, and more.
Many sound reducing materials went into the design of the 2020 Corolla, which reduces noise penetration better than ever. The drivetrain was redesigned to be even more efficient, further reducing engine and road noise. Combining the lack of noise with the ample leg room makes for a very comfortable ride for the driver and passengers alike. Engine options are slightly different in 2020. The L, LE, and XLE will all feature the same engine as before, but it will now provide better fuel efficiency as well as more horsepower. For the XE and XSE, an all-new 2.0-liter Dynamic-Force direct-injection inline four-cylinder engine is used. This is combined with the newly available Dynamic-Shift CVT transmission.
